MISSION:

Not all movies are good for viewing in the same way that not all books are good for reading. In Pinoy Books to Success, it is my goal to post quotations, and recommend books that are good for your mind and soul; that will help you grow as a person, a husband/wife, a father/mother, etc.; and that will help you make your dreams come true.

Do YOu Want to Know the Ideas Behind Quick Impression and Hunches?

Blink

I used to be little hunches, and instinctive feeling. To me, I am a rational being therefore I should put more value and focus to my thoughts. Boy, was I wrong! Hidden deep inside our brain is an awesome computer that can process thousands or millions of information in a blink. How this secret computer works is explained rather lightly but thoroughly by Malcolm Gladwell in this book, Blink.

To those who are interested with how we got those undescribable but feelings, those hunches, and those instinctive reactions, I suggest that you read Malcolm Gladwell's book, Blink. The book is backed by research done by the author and told in a way that won't make you feel sleepy, and bored.

Do YOu Want to Know How the Rich People Think? How They Become Richer While the Rest of Us Become Poorer?

Finally, someone explains plainly to the poor and middle class like me how the rich people think, how they were able to grow their wealth, and how they were able to protect it from excessive taxes.

Before I read this book I thought that a house is an asset, formal education is the key to wealth, and only accountants can understand money. I never even heard of the rat race before.

This book totally surprised me, even shocked me at times. In the early part of the book, I even thought that the author is nuts and super in love with money. Maybe he is. But I can't deny that his explainations really made sense to me. No wonder the poor becomes poorer, and the rich becomes richer. It's all explained here in a very straightforward, yet entertaining style. Also, the book is also very enlightening; a good wake up call to those who have no plans of changing the way they look at money, their work, their education, and their future.

If you belong to the middle class and below, and you want to become rich and wealthy, then this book is definitely a good place to start!

Do YOu Want to Know the Success Principles of the Cocreator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul?

Do you want to know the success principles of Jack Canfield, the cocreator of the highly popular Chicken Soup for the Soul series?

I bet you do!

Do you know that the first Chicken Soup for the Soul book was rejected by over 130 publishers? Jack Canfield revealed in this book how he and Mark Victor Hansen was able to overcome those rejections, and had their wildly popular book published.

Are you one of those who are afraid to ask? This book will teach you easy to understand principles, and easy to follow steps to help you overcome the fear to ask. Like you, I was afraid to ask. But after I applied the principle in this book, my wife and I were able to attend a P3000/person worth of seminar last April for free by applying just one principle -- Just Ask -- from this book. No kidding.

The book is a collection of 64 timeless principles that Jack Canfield applied in his life to reach the level of success that he enjoys right now. The real life examples were very inspiring. Now you and I have access to this treasure chest of wisdom from one of the most popular and successful life coaches in America. This is definitely a must-have book for those who wants to be successful in life.

This book was a New York Times bestseller which sold for over 2 millions copies, and launched the Chicken Soup for the Soul series.

The name "Chicken Soup For The Soul" was chosen for this series because of the use of chicken soup as a home remedy for the sick, and therefore it was "good for the body." The inspirational stories included in this series were meant to be "good for the soul."

This book contains 101 inspirational, true stories about ordinary men and women doing extraordinary things. The stories will open your heart and rekindles your spirit. And best of all, you will discover basic principles that you can use in your own life.

The 101 stories in the first book of the series were compiled by motivational speakers Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen.

If you are the type of person who likes inspiring, and enlightening stories, then you should have a copy of this book.

Do YOu Want to Know How to Make Decision Wisely?

One of the things that really intrigue me is the question, "How to make a wise decision?"

There are people who seems to be always making the right decision while there are those who keep on stumbling upon from one mistake to another. The sad thing is that for every mistake there is always a corresponding negative impact into the life of the affected person -- lost money, broken relationships, stagnant career, imprisonment, and even death. Obviously, I want to be on the side that always makes the wise decision.

Last year, while buying snacks for my wife who attended to our daughter who was hospitalized for pneumonia, I saw this small Christian Bookstore somewhere in Osmena Boulevard, Cebu City. Upon impulse, I went in to take a quick peek, and there I saw this book by Buddy Harrison. After a quick browse, I pulled out some cash, and bought the book.

As the title of the book suggest, this book will teach you how to make decision wisely. What I like about the book is that it is pocket size, easy to read, short read (only 92 pages) and Bible based.

The author broke down the decision making process into seven connected steps which he briedfly but completely and clearly explained. I find the content very useful and enlightening. There were a step or two that surprised me, and made me say to myself, "Why I haven't thought of that?" The author sprinkled a dash of wisdom here and there which makes the book even more useful.

To those who wants to find an alternative ways of making decision, this pocketbook should be seriously considered to be a part of your collection.
